When a patient or loved one requires a new chair, I want to ensure that the chair provided is the best to cater for their comfort, pressure management and postural support. Every chair is specifically made to suit the patient's clinical needs and to suit their individual dimensions, so it is important that we do get the correct measurements before making your chair.
We have Seating Specialists worldwide that I have personally trained to carry out thorough Seating Assessments which will include taking the accurate measurements which are required.
When a Seating Specialist carries out a Seating Assessment, they measure the following to ensure the patient's chair meets their needs. This video will give you some tips on how you can measure a client for a Seating Matters chair. To assist you, click here to get your free Seating Matters tape measure!
The measurements we require are:
1. Seat width.
2. Seat depth.
3. Seat height.
4. Consider back angle requirements.
5. Back height.
6. Arm rest height.
In the following video, I outline the measurements that are required and how to best achieve them.
