Success at JWC Awards

For the second year running Martina Tierney had great success at the Journal of Wound Care Awards in London.

Last year Martina picked up third place in the Professional Education Award, JWC Awards 2016 Martina Tierney.jpgand was delighted to top that this year, firstly by being nominated in three top categories, as well as picking up second place in all three categories!

The Journal of Wound Care Awards is a prestigious event taking place in London annually, recognising and championing the hard work which is carried out by clinicians across the UK in the development of wound-care research and practice.

The Pressure Care Award


Winner: The Tissue Viability Team, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
Second: Martina Tierney, Occupational Therapist & Clinical Director, Seating Matters
Third: Emer Shanley, PhD Scholar, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland

 

The Best Clinical Research Award


Winner: Ross Atkinson, Anna Jones, Karen Ousey & John Stephenson
Second: Martina Tierney, Occupational Therapist & Clinical Director, Seating Matters
Third: Andrea Mahon, Doctoral Researcher in Podiatric Medicine, National University of Ireland Galway

 

The Professional Education Award


Winner: Kevin Woo, Assistant Professor & Advanced Wound Consultant, Queen’s University, Canada
Second: Martina Tierney, Occupational Therapist & Clinical Director, Seating Matters
Third: Karen Ousey, Jeanette Milne, Leanne Atkin, Valerie Henderson and John Stephenson, The University of Huddersfield
